Real Weddings: Callie and Connor's Rustic Glam Wedding
We are so excited today to share Callie and Connor’s wedding with you. Not only do we get to share details of their big day, but we interviewed Callie and she told us all about they met, how he proposed and her favorite parts of her wedding day! Here from Callie below:
Tell us the short story of how you met one another.
Even though we went to different high schools, we were lucky enough to meet each other at church. We started dating in high school and because of that, we have so many memories and have experienced so much together already. We’re definitely lucky to have met each other while we were younger because we’ve shared so many big life events together already!
Tell us about the proposal!
We got engaged December 16th of the year before our wedding at Memphis Zoo Lights with some of my closest friends and his family. It was so special to have family and friends around!
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?
The most memorable part of our wedding day... we had so many!! Having all of our family together since many of them live out of town! Another favorite memory of ours was after we were done with pictures during cocktail hour, we snuck around the back of the venue and the staff let us borrow their office to have dinner together with just us two before we joined our closest family and friends for the reception! We loved having a few minutes together to take it all in before celebrating with everyone!
Why did you choose White Oak Farms?
White Oak Farms was the first and only venue we looked at before booking! We had plans to look at other venues but after touring White Oak Farms, I was so impressed with the staff and all of the advice they had to share. Also, the venue is gorgeous so that made our decision even easier! It was designed perfectly to accommodate all different types/styles of weddings and they are constantly trying to improve it for their couples!
In a few words describe your theme or style for your wedding. (Ie- Boho, Glam, Rustic, Etc.)
Glam with a little bit of rustic
Is there anything else you can tell us about your love story?
We are getting ready to move to Memphis to start a new journey together for me to go to Dental school, and I am so thankful he was willing to move cities and jobs for me to chase my dreams, and I hope I get the same opportunity in the future to watch him chase his.
Is there anything else you think future couples will find interesting / helpful about planning your wedding? (Ie - planned from out of state, a must have was your dog in the ceremony, etc.)
A month before our wedding, the staff announced that they were releasing an ebook exclusive for WOF couples with all their tips/advice for weddings specifically at their venue. I was lucky enough to read it early and even though I thought I had everything planned, it helped so much with the final details that I hadn’t even thought of.
